Social Work Intervention at Siddhpur parish

New Venture in Siddhpur

It is with much difficulty we gained the confidence of the people in and around Umru-Siddhpur and thus began a women’s cooperative society. Sabarmati Samrudhi Seva Sang, the Social work wing of the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar was instrumental in helping us to reach out to the people of this vicinity. Fr. Salvador Fernandes was generous to provide personals like Mr. Vaibhav Macwan and  Mr. Jaifin Dund to strengthen our work in this vicinity. After the inaugural event at Pethapur on 12th November 2017, Mr. Macwan and Mr. Dund visit the centre every month and meet the women and explain to them all about cooperative society or bank. It is indeed a great breakthrough in this area. Although it is a tough place to work still regular visit of the project coordinators is amazing. We are working hard and hopefully go ahead with this work of Sangath. (Fr. Xavier James, 8th July 2018)
