CARMEL CONVENT, Gandhinagar

Carmel Convent- Gandhinagar was established in June 1970 during the Centenary year of the foundation of the congregation of Apostolic Carmel. As the capital of Gujarat was shifted to Gandhingar, the government needed educational institutes to cater to the children of the officers posted in Gandhinagar. Thus requested and invited by the officials, Mount Carmel School opened its branch in Gandhinagar. Due to lack of infrastructure and and less number of students, Mount Carmel School functioned from a government building together with St. Xavier’s School. Later, in 1983, Carmel School with both English and Gujarati mediums shifted to its new building in Sector, 20. The school caters to students of all sections of the society irrespective of their caste and creed. Carmel School offers education and all-round development till the Higher Secondary level in General, Commerce and Science streams.
