Khiloda Jesus, the Light of the World

The early missionary efforts in the Khiloda region encountered a series of challenges and uncertainties. The initial outreach began from Himmatnagar, where priests initiated both pastoral and social ministry programs. Their search for suitable land first led them to Asal, but due to unforeseen difficulties, they were unable to establish a permanent presence there.

Eventually, the mission found temporary refuge in a rented bungalow at Sodhpur. It was there that the Sisters of the Society of Pilar joined the priests, working together to serve the spiritual and social needs of the local communities. In time, the Society of Pilar acquired a piece of land in Khiloda, which became the new centre for their pastoral and social apostolate.

From this mission base in Khiloda, the Fathers now serve six villages with regular Holy Mass and provide support through various social outreach programs in as many as fifteen villages. In a significant step toward holistic development, the Pilar Fathers launched an English-medium pre-primary and primary school at the end of June 2013. This educational initiative has become a vital part of their mission, nurturing young minds and laying the foundation for a brighter future for the local communities.
