Education Commission

Building a Future Rooted in Values

Education is more than just academics—it’s about forming the whole person. In our Diocese, the Education Commission plays a pivotal role in nurturing minds, shaping character, and guiding students to grow not just in knowledge but in wisdom and virtue. It is a ministry deeply rooted in the mission of the Church to evangelize through education.

Vision and Mission

The vision of the Education Commission is to provide value-based education that promotes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social responsibility. We strive to form students who are intellectually competent, morally upright, spiritually inspired, and socially committed.

Our mission is to ensure that every child, especially from rural and marginalized communities, has access to quality education. We believe that education is a God-given right and a powerful tool for transforming lives and uplifting communities.

What We Do

• Support Catholic Schools:
We guide and support our diocesan and religious-run schools in their academic and pastoral endeavours. Regular training for teachers, principals, and management bodies ensures that our institutions reflect Gospel values in all they do.

• Promote Inclusive Education: Special attention is given to children from tribal, backward, and economically weaker sections. We work to make education affordable, inclusive, and respectful of every child’s background and potential.

• Scholarships and Assistance: The commission helps identify needy students and assists them in obtaining scholarships, school supplies, and sponsorships, ensuring no child is denied education due to financial hardship.

• Faith Formation in Schools: We also integrate catechetical and moral instruction into the curriculum to help students grow in Christian values. Activities such as retreats, value education classes, and school Masses help students encounter God in their daily lives.

• Collaboration with Government and NGOs: We coordinate with civil authorities and social organizations to improve the educational standards in our region and advocate for the rights of every child.

Our Challenges and Hope

The journey is not without challenges—lack of infrastructure in rural schools, dropout rates among girls, shortage of qualified Catholic teachers—but our hope is firm. With the grace of God and the collaboration of committed educators, religious congregations, and benefactors, we are building a brighter future, one child at a time.

We are not just teaching subjects—we are forming souls.
