Mankroda-Bhiloda, Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Fr. Lluis Espasa started visiting Sabarkantha on his motorcycle from Gomtipur in 1962. In the following year he settled in Mankroda-Bhiloda and the mission began. The Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate led by the indomitable Mother Yvonne came to collaborate in the mission work and initially established a Dispensary. Those were years of drought. Much relief and agricultural development works were organised by Swami Deendayanand Espasa, as he preferred to be called. The Jesuit Province established a school which is now at the Higher Secondary level. Bhiloda is the cradle of the Sabarkantha mission and developed to the south with the formation of Nana Kantharia Parish. Swami Dindayanand himself moved out from Bhiloda and established Vijayanagar in the north. The parish currently has about 3000 members.
